Typically, an estate planning attorney will work within a 15-mile radius of their home. When the attorney meets with a client, they ask the client to come meet in their office. This practice, while convenient for the attorney, can cause headaches for the client in that they often have to take valuable time off work to meet with the attorney or they have to fight traffic to get to and from the office.Retirement Planning

At the Thornton Law Firm, we are changing how attorney meetings go. As a traveling estate planning attorney, I personally go meet with my clients in their homes. This typically leads to individuals asking how far I will go to meet with clients.

The most common areas that I go to meet my clients are:

  1. Raleigh Estate Planning: Raleigh is in the heart of the Triangle so, of course, I meet my clients in their Raleigh homes on a regular basis.
  2. Durham Estate Planning: Durham is part of the Triangle. There are parts of Durham that are almost one hour away from other parts of the Triangle, but I still drive out there.
  3. Cary Estate Planning: For the past few decades, Cary had been one of the fastest growing cities in North Carolina.  Today, Cary is one of the ten largest cities in North Carolina.  Naturally, I travel to clients in Cary all the time for their estate planning needs.
  4. Apex Estate Planning: Apex hasn’t been far behind Cary in terms of its growth over the years.  Apex has transformed from a small Southern town to a large, cosmopolitan community.  I have traveled to Apex quite often over the years to meet with clients.
  5. Garner Estate Planning: Garner is a growing part of the Triangle. Many newlyweds and first-time homebuyers are moving out towards the Garner and Clayton areas.
  6. Fuquay Varina Estate Planning: I love being one of the few estate planning attorneys in Fuquay Varina. Both Fuquay and Holly Springs are growing so quickly. I love being able to serve Fuquay and Holly Springs with in-home estate planning services.
  7. Wake Forest Estate Planning: Wake Forest grew quite a bit in the early 2000s and is a now a well-established community. However, due to heavy traffic on Capital Boulevard to get into and out of the area, many estate planning attorneys won’t serve this area, or, if they do, they ask clients to fight traffic and drive to them.
